Late Summer Update
Thank you for joining our mailing list for updates on our membership based dog park Waggin' Trails! We've been busy this Summer updating our budget and construction plans and working to bring all the project costs into line within our budgetary constraints. We are grateful to our local contractor (Scapes), site designer (Berkshire Design) for working through these issues and preparing to break ground this Fall on construction. We've also been working towards closing on our bank financing in time for starting construction this Fall which would make our opening approximately 6 months later in Spring 2020.

This Summer our team has been in planning mode and attended a fantastic animal behavior seminar by Sue Sternberg on managing DOG-DOG interactions & avoiding dog play dangers. Sue founded the shelter featured in the HBO documentary: Shelter Dogs (www.shelterdogs.org). She has developed national programs, such as Training Wheels® for community shelter outreach and dedicated herself to ensuring the quality of life of animals in their communities, at animal shelters and in safe adoptions. Her 30 years of canine behavior experience, includes as an animal control officer, behavior consultant at the ASPCA, shelter owner, successful competitor in dog sports, and a teacher of dog trainers world-wide. We all learned some great tips and can't wait to use her ideas and techniques at the park and share some of her knowledge with you!
